Every human being hides a deep desire within him\u2014the search for truth, for love, for eternity. At the core of Sufism, this quest is called Fana and Baqa. Fana means the extinction of the soul\u2014the end of one&#8217;s ego, desire, desire; And baqa means eternal status with Allah. Sufi journey is not complete without these two steps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In this article we will discuss \u2013<br>The spiritual meaning of Fana and Baka,<br>Explanation in the light of Quran and Hadith,<br>The view of the Sufi saints,<br>Application of this philosophy in modern life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fana: Annihilation of the soul<br>The word fana means \u201cdestruction\u201d or \u201cwiping out\u201d. Sufis believe that as long as man has pride (nafs), greed and self-centeredness, he cannot see the beauty and love of God. So Fana means to completely dissolve oneself in the love of God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fana in the light of the Quran<br>Allah says: &#8220;Everything will perish except His face.&#8221; (Surah Qasas 28:88). This verse is the essence of Fona. Even if man loses everything, God is eternal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interpretation of the Sufis<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Bayazid Bastami (RA) said: &#8220;When I erased the &#8216;I&#8217;, I saw that there is nothing but Allah.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mansur al-Hallaj&#8217;s famous saying \u201cAna al-Haq\u201d (I am the truth) is actually a manifestation of Fana.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baka: Eternal status<br>The next stage of Fana is Baka. When a saint ceases to exist, Allah gives him a new life\u2014full of His remembrance, His love, His light. That&#8217;s Baka.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Baka in the light of hadith<br>The Prophet \ufdfa said: &#8220;When My slave comes to Me through Nafal Ibadah, I love him. Then I become his hearing, sight, hands and feet.&#8221; (Bukhari). It is meant here that the servant loses his will and starts following the will of Allah. That&#8217;s the core of Baqa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">View of Sufi Saints<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Imam al-Ghazali (RA) said: &#8220;Fana is the death of pride, and Baqa&#8217; is life with Allah.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rumi (RA) wrote: \u201cWhen you sink into the abyss, you will find that you are not lost\u2014rather, God&#8217;s presence within you is permanent.\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fana and Bakar Path<br>Tazqiya (self-purification) \u2013 giving up pride, desire, envy.<br>Mujahada (struggle) \u2013 Fighting against the self.<br>Zikr and Meditation \u2013 Purifying the heart by remembering the name of Allah.<br>Association of Murshids \u2013 Relation to a spiritual master.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Education of Fana-Baka in modern life<br>Today&#8217;s people are getting lost in consumerism, anxiety and competition. Fana teaches us\u2014to humble ourselves, to break our pride, to put our trust in Allah. And Baca teaches\u2014to implement this trust in every act of life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example \u2013<br>Trusting God without fearing the problems of life.<br>Loving people, forgiving, working for the welfare of others.<br>Wealth, not fame; Rather give priority to spiritual peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conclusion<br>Fana and Baka are not just religious theories, they are deep truths of the human soul. When a man dissolves his ego and surrenders to the love of God, he attains true liberation.
