The history of destroying shrines is not new! Such a religiously destructive campaign has been carried out against the religion of Islam since the beginning!
The main goal of the Yazidi fitna that emerged after the death of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) was to turn Islam into a mere behavioral shell and to make the state power untouchable. As a result, heinous incidents like the attack on Medina (Battle of Al-Harrar) by Yazid and the attack on the shrine of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) took place. Since then, the plot of the camp opposing the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayyah was to demolish the shrines or shrines of the bearers of the religion of Islam, including the Holy Prophet (PBUH) and the Ahl al-Bayyah.
When the Saudi government was crowned king of Arabia around 1744, a hellish rampage of destroying shrines was carried out across Arabia under the auspices of the cursed Abdul Wahhab Najdi. The shrines or tombs of many important people, including members and companions of the Holy Panjatan, were mixed with the holy soil. Since then, the tendency to destroy shrines has become prominent among Wahhabi followers worldwide.
We have previously observed at various times that Wahhabis have destroyed the shrines of saints and auliyas in various parts of the world, including India. Major shrines have been attacked. Opposition to the saints and attacks on their shrines is a huge responsibility of the Wahhabis!
Bangladesh has been a country of religious liberality since the beginning. Starting from the era of the Companions, thousands of saints and auliyas have come to this country and preached Islam. Since religion was propagated by the holy saints, the religious consciousness of the people of this country is tolerant, liberal and endowed with religious mysticism or spirituality.
Wahhabism was propagated in Bangladesh from the beginning of the 19th century. They started opposing the holy saints, the main foundation of Islam in this country, under the pretext of introducing literal religious laws instead of external piety. Demolishing the shrines of the holy saints is a big part of their movement.
The people of Bangladesh are still followers of mystical Islam. Influenced by the spiritual consciousness and beauty of Islam and enlightening the innermost secrets of religion. In this country, we know the holy saints as the foundation of Islam. No newly imported un-Islamic movement will be able to create a rift in the religious faith of the people of this country.
Even today, millions of people in Bangladesh practice spiritual consciousness. Millions of people are followers of the holy saints. Devotees of shrines. They worship the shrines. We have unwavering respect and devotion to the saints. The ferocity and violence of the insubstantial Wahhabi doctrine will never be able to find a place in the Bengali consciousness. Rather, Wahhabism will remain a hated and abandoned pile of garbage in Bengal.
We would like to inform those who are attacking the shrines of the saints or the holy processions of the saints that the flow of unwavering devotion to the shrines cannot be stopped by breaking the shrines. Rather, day by day, people will gather in droves at the shrines, attracted by the spiritual power of the saints, to offer devotional offerings. The shrine that was broken today, tomorrow it will be established in a more beautiful form through more pomp and show. The saints will forever reveal the unquenchable radiance of eternal truth in every corner of Bengal, in the heart of every devotee.
The shrine or holy tomb of every saint is the pulse of our soul. The center of our devotion. We will cherish each shrine by giving it our own heart. The wounds of Wahhabi extremism will rather enliven us on the path of the future struggle for truth. On the path of justice. By taking our hearts to the limits of excellence, we will prove that this country belongs to the saints, this consciousness to the Sufis, this struggle belongs to religion against unrighteousness.
May the saints and gurus win. May spirituality win.
